PALMERSTON RUGBY UNION CLUB IS LOCATED IN PALMERSTON, APPROXIMATELY 20KM FROM DARWIN IN THE NORTHERN TERRITORY, AUSTRALIA.
History
Palmerston Rugby Union Club is one of the founding clubs of the Northern Territory Rugby Union, fielding teams in the original 1976/77 season. Back then, the city of Palmerston did not exist – the club was actually named after the original European settlement in Darwin. In 1984 the club relocated south of the Berrimah line to the newly developing suburbs of Palmerston, and in doing so became the first major sporting organisation to call Palmerston home. We have been here ever since and have continued to grow and be part of the Palmerston community.
Here’s a snapshot of memories from the club’s early history:
Vision, Mission and Values
Governance
The club is run by a management committed elected at the Annual General Meeting held in October/November each year. The sound organizational structure, together with responsible strategic and financial planning, has ensured the sustainability of the club since its inception in 1976, and will do so into the future.
Committee meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every month and are open to all club members. If you are interested in joining the committee or helping out in any way, we would love to hear from you!
